Planar Acoustic Microscope Lens

Abstract

The concept of a planar acoustic microscope lens to be used in the standard geometry of a scanning acoustic microscope (I) has been discussed previously (2,3). In this paper we wish to look a little more closely at the focussing mechanism of this lens and to consider some further extensions of the concept.
