## Abstract

The subset relation ⊆ between sets has the following properties:

- (a)
If

*A*is a set, then*A*⊆*A*. - (b)
If

*A*and*B*are sets such that*A*⊆*B*and*B*⊆*A*, then*A*=*B*. - (c)
If

*A*,*B*, and*C*are sets such that*A*⊆*B*and*B*⊆*C*, then*A*⊆*C*.
