Summary
New observations of the Magellanic Stream are used in a recent discrete ram-pressure theory which proposes that the signs of interaction in the Magellanic System point to a collision event some 2–4 × 108 years ago, and that the collisions between the inter-Cloud gas and a discrete halo produce the Magellanic Stream.
