Abstract
Of all the complex deformities occurring in clubfoot, when considering surgical correction, the cavus component appears to have been given the least attention. The importance of the deformity, the methods by which it can be recognized and quantified, and an approach to its treatment are the purposes of this paper. The author feels that failure to identify this deformity and treat it appropriately have been major factors associated with results that are less than satisfactory in clubfoot surgery.
