Abstract
Biologic response modifiers (BRM) are compounds that modify an immune response, usually enhancing it. They include immune-potentiating bacterial products, chemicals such as polynucleotides, physiologically active molecules such as thymic hormones and interferon, and the true adjuvants, which are administered with the antigen. A number of these substances have been used in an attempt to potentiate immune reactions in cancer patients and those who suffer from immunodeficiency.
