Abstract
Many individuals and couples resolve their infertility crisis with the help of couples’ therapy or group support therapy, or without any intervention. Others experience tremendous personal growth in an individual psychotherapy. Selecting the appropriate patients for this treatment modality is challenging. Often these patients are self-selected. They want to come in alone for consultation and for various reasons find it difficult to convince their spouse to join them. A history revealing early abuse, trauma, or loss would be a strong indication for referral for individual psychotherapy.
