Abstract
Instability of molecules in high rotational states as observed especially in HgH and A1H, is a phenomenon whose quantum-mechanical explanation is closely analogous to that of the radioactive disintegration of atomic nuclei. The heat of dissociation of A1H from its normal state is estimated to be 3.07 volts.
