Abstract
Consider the simple truss shown in Figure 1.1. This is a two-dimensional structure made of steel. The geometry is specified in the figure. Assume a value of E (Elasticity modulus) equal to 3xl07psi. A force of 120 lb is applied horizontally at a point with coordinates x=60 in and y=30 in. Determine the displacements caused by this loading condition.
