The Binomial, Poisson, and Normal Distributions

Abstract

In this chapter we consider in some detail the binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions. Although the binomial distribution has its own applications, part of its importance lies in the fact that both the Poisson and normal distributions can be derived as limiting cases.
