The Data and Statistical Analysis

  • Chapter

Abstract

The material presented in this book has been taken from the journals listed in Index Medicus (covering approximately 2700 journals) and Current Contents (covering approximately 1150 journals). The papers published from January 1970 and listed under “Histocompatibility” and “HLA” constitute the database and the bibliography. We have attempted to include all published and available material. Only the publications that could not be obtained easily are excluded. However, these constitute a very small fraction (approximately 5–10%) of the total published material. In addition, the data and reports from the “Histocompatibility Testing” series and “Transplantation Reviews” were generally not included, since most of them had been subsequently published in various forms elsewhere. Also, we have not included unpublished data on the HLA antigen frequencies in patients and controls.
