Abstract
Adoption is a familiar word to most adults in contemporary America but we should not assume any genuine depth or breadth of knowledge, because our perception depends upon our perspective. Adoption may be an alternative and a solution for childless couples and parentless children. For many, this is the limit of perception about adoption. Yet, adoption is an institution that is responsive to the mores and cultural pressures of society as a whole and to the dictates of other institutions in our society.
