Abstract
Because the risks of invasive vascular procedures are inherently greater in small patients, the development of pediatric angiography has lagged behind the adult experience. Nevertheless, invasive vascular techniques have come to play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of many pediatric disorders. Although a high degree of safety and reliability has been achieved, complications do occur. In this chapter we consider the early and late complications of pediatric angiography and cardiac catheterization, and what can be done to prevent them.
