Possibilities for Career Management in a Subordinate Organisation
A research establishment with approximately 100 scientists carries out operational research and analytical studies on behalf of the Canadian forces. One of its areas of study is forces manpower management. Because of a major reorganisation of the research component of National Defence the establishment requires a new career management system and has the opportunity to contribute to its design, although the possibilities are somewhat limited because its scientists form part of a larger group with somewhat different functions. This paper discusses the factors entering into the development of a new system to meet the requirement.
