Abstract
Catalysis is an essential factor in chemical technology, contributing greatly to world economy, and is the basis of most life processes in biological systems. Research has played a vital part in the development of industrial processes and in the understanding of life systems. Since the future of new reactions and processes will be largely catalytic, since catalysis will be heavily involved in any energy supply system, and since catalysis will be essential in improving the quality of life, research in all areas of catalysis ihould be strongly encouraged.
