Abstract

My purpose is to briefly describe the status and prospects of fission power. I hope that my remarks will help to provide background for an exchange of ideas in the course of our panel discussions. Despite occasional representations to the contrary, the power industry welcomes interactions with the scientific community, and I would be glad to convey to my industrial associates any well-considered viewpoints that arise from our discussions.
