Abstract

A retrospective series of ocular trauma in which through and through Derforations of the globe existed or a foreign body was imbedded in the ocular coats was studied to determine the incidence of retinal detachment. In a large percentage of these cases, hemorrhage within the globe obscured visual localization of the perforation or foreign body, and precluded optimal surgical management.
