Abstract

The epitaxy effect of urinary mucoprotein on mineral precipitation has been suggested by several authors.How ever, experimental controversy still exists, mainly due to the contradictory results regarding the amount of such components in controls and stone formers. Previous studies from this laboratory (reported at the International Symposium in Madrid) have shown the following possible mechanism for the mucoprotein action.
