Abstract

This communication deals only with cases of pulmonary atresia with a ventricular septal defect, and here the surgical technique is not in doubt in that we aim to establish haemodynamic continuity between the right ventricle and the pulmonary arteries through a valve conduit after closure of the VSD. This manoeuvre we were first able to achieve in 1966 and the young man is alive and well approximately 10 years later.
