Abstract
Previous measurements of the specific heat of vitreous B2O3 down to 60 mK indicated a non linear temperature dependence, as T1.45 which had been tentatively interpreted by the existence of a gap in the density of states at very low energy(1). In order to check this idea, we tried to extend the measuremnts at lower temperatures and to compare them to heat conductivities. We began by Si02 which has been yet extensively studied; it can be obtained with different concentrations of OH impurities, which influence on specific heat and heat conductivity is interesting to know. We used Suprasil samples with two OH contents: 1200 and less than 1.5 ppm (hereafter called Suprasil W).
