Abstract

Dr. Robert W. Wissler of Chicago opened the workshop on regression by stating that a number of recent studies have furnished both indirect and direct evidence that atherosclerotic plaques in man and experimental animals may be substantially reduced in size by the sustained reduction of serum cholesterol to the levels that appear to be usual and normal in each species when it is receiving a low fat and low cholesterol diet throughout life.
