The Catalytic Role of Micelle-Bisulfite Complexation in Vinyl Polymerization

  • Chapter

Abstract

The present paper is concerned with the polymerization of vinyl monomers such as acrylamide and methyl acrylate with sodium bisulfite as catalyst in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Comparative studies are made with systems containing non-micellar salts or polycationics.
