Abstract

Brookes confirmed that in high-pressure liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analysis of the products of benzpyrene metabolism in a microsomal system to which DNA had been added, his group had observed the same peaks of metabolite—DNA complexes as those obtained by Nebert’s group. However, the first four peaks were not identified by Brookes’ group, as they considered these minimal in both size and importance. Peak A of Brookes, therefore, corresponds to peak E of Nebert.
