Abstract
The problems and exercises that follow are designed to progress from one to the next; they should be resolved in the sequence given. At each step in the series there is a solution to allow the reader to correct any mistakes he may have made. This should permit everyone to work through to the end of this section. It may happen that you will find a correct solution which differs from the one we propose. We suggest that you adopt our solution in working the exercises that follow so as to make it easier to understand their solutions.
