How to introduce materials management
In previous chapters, the traditional function oriented organization has been compared with the aspect oriented organization for controlling the goods flow, and the substance and expected advantages of materials management have been considered. In this chapter attention is given to the matter of how to introduce materials management. Following the lines of the systems approach, the social aspect is taken and attention is given to the elements (people) and structure of the existing and reorganized organization. It is not the intention of this chapter to give a detailed recipe dictating how a reorganization process can be successfully concluded, but to clarify some of the essential facets of this process in order to make those involved with a reorganization aware of the issues involved and latest developments in the organization theory.
