Abstract

A major problem in the liquefaction processing of LNG is the precipitation of solids (hydrocarbons and CO2) from the liquid phase. These solids can coat the surfaces of heat exchangers and foul turbo-expansion devices, requiring liquefaction units to be shut down for cleaning and/or repair.
