Sonographic Differential Diagnoses of Pelvic Masses
With the enhanced soft tissue detail recently afforded by gray scale image processing, a variety of sonographic patterns have been observed arising from pelvic masses. In an attempt to assess the specificity of a sonographic pattern to the histological composition of the mass, the following study utilizing only surgically proven cases was undertaken. The diagnostic and clinical implications of the variations of sonographic features of pelvic masses is discussed with regard to their differential diagnosis by sonography.
