Abstract

These echograms illustrate differences between medium-sized benign and malignant tumors (classified T2). The left-hand series of echograms of a benign cyst shows a clearly outlined, elliptical area of non sonic reflection due to the low acoustic absorption of the contained liquid and the difference in sonic velocity from the normal breast tissue. The tadpole-tail sign marked TP and the lateral shadow sign marked LS are clearly demonstrated as the suggestive benign signs.
