Open Group: The Past and Future of Development Studies

  • G. Van Benthem van den Bergh
Part of the Institute of Social Studies book series (ISDS, volume 5)

I am faced with a rather difficult task because most conference delegates have been present at the open sessions. There are thus many who can check on what I say, contrary to my colleagues who were privileged to report on the smaller closed sessions. For this reason, I prefer to speak not so much about the content as about the tone of our discussion which, I think, reflected the changing spirit of development studies.
