Abstract

The basic laws of photoemission discussed in Chapter 4 did not require consideration of the further behavior of electrons emitted into solution. Therefore, only those experiments were described in which the measured photocurrent was close to the emission current. However, in general, subsequent processes following the act of emission are quite important, especially under conditions of low acceptor concentration. The photocurrent measured under these conditions is lower than the emission current and the basic characteristics of the process (dependence of the photocurrent on potential, light frequency, etc.) can, in principle, differ from the photoemission characteristics.
