Abstract
Our dependence on uranium as a fuel is increasing and will increase for at least the next decade. Most industrial and governmental procedures for removal, isolation and/or concentration of uranium from its ores call for formation of the uranyl ion, UO +22 . Further, the naturally occurring water soluble uranium-containing moiety is the uranyl ion. This work is part of a continuing effort aimed at the control and recovery of the uranyl ion.
