  • R. R. Trussell

Abstract

Infection is an excellent example of an area where maternity care and child health care are impossible to separate because of a great deal of overlap. In many ways, action that will improve one will also improve the other. All health personnel must be prepared to consider both mother and child. In discussing the prevention and management of maternal infectious diseases during pregnancy, it is necessary to emphasize a number of general points before dealing with specifics.
