Abstract
Women’s work in Canada is either unpaid work in the home, low-paid wage labor, or both. It is a fairly well-known fact that women in the labor force earn on the average only 60% of what men earn and that the dollar gap between their average earnings is increasing.1 This disparity is not a new phenomenon; women in the Canadian labor force have always received lower wages than men for comparable work.
