Abstract
Many of the toxic or explosive vapours that have been released in accidents that have caused severe damage or loss of life(1–5), or the need for large scale evacuation(6), are denser-than-air. Considerable attention has, therefore, been devoted to the modelling of the atmospheric dispersion of heavy vapours and the current literature contains many examples (7–12).
