Energy Transfer in Random Systems

Abstract

A theoretical study of incoherent electronic energy transfer in an impurity band of substitutionally disordered molecular crystals is presented. It is assumed that the exciton is well described within a localized representation and that migration between randomly distributed impurity sites is due to resonance or phonon-assisted energy transfer. In the case of phonon-assisted transfer we shall confine ourselves to transfer processes which do not depend on the energy mismatch between two sites.
