Multipolar f Electron-Conduction Band Interactions in Rare-Earth Compounds

Abstract

Recently we discussed the evidence for multipolar rare earth conduction electron (k-f) interactions in rare earth metallic systems.1 Here we will present some new evidence for this and consider the role of the k-f interactions as well as the orbit-lattice interaction in producing multipolar interionic (f-f) coupling between rare earths in metallic systems.
