Part of the NATO Conference Series book series (NATOCS, volume 4)

The aim of this session was to provide a means by which sites with soils sensitive to the effects of inputs of acidifying chemicals in precipitation could be identified. This is an obvious necessity in our attempts to predict the terrestrial effects of acid precipitation, since it is these sensitive sites which might be expected to exhibit the most immediate and severe responses to such a pollution stress.
