Abstract

The first-order many-body theory (fombt) has been applied to the calculation of orientation and alignment parameters (λ and χ) in the case of electron impact excitation of the 31P state of He at 50 and 80 eV impact energies. The results obtained are compared with experimental results and with those of other theoretical models.
