Abstract
The two common forms of metabolic bone disease in old age are osteoporosis and osteomalacia. As in the case of many other diseases of old age they may occur together. Their clinical importance lies in the fact that each condition leads to a diminution in strength of the bone and consequent increased liability to fracture. The aim of this presentation is to assess the role of metabolic one disorder in the aetiology of femoral neck fracture.
