Abstract
Recently Fisher and Selke1 have shown that, at low temperatures, the axial next nearest neighbour Ising (ANNNI) model exhibits an infinite sequence of long wavelength commensurate phases. In this paper we discuss the changes in the phase diagram under the influence of a uniform external field.
