Abstract
A detailed understanding of the processes taking place at surfaces of condensed media is of fundamental importance in chemistry and physics. Often several processes contribute to a phenomenon and this complicates the analysis considerably. A catalytic reaction, for example, will proceed at length only if, in addition to the heterogeneous reaction, adsorption and desorption processes occur.
