The Psychology of Coronary Bypass Patients

Abstract

Patients who experience coronary bypass surgery are likely to suffer depression, and previous chapters have described an intervention strategy that appears to help. In this chapter I shall describe the personality characteristics of these patients, especially those characteristics which can predict those who will benefit most from crisis intervention.
