Genetics of Alcoholism and Alcohol Actions

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Research Advances in Alcohol and Drug Problems ((AADP,volume 8))

Abstract

In this chapter we will first review the more recent data from twin, half-sibling, and adoption studies which indicate that humans inherit a risk for alcoholism. We will then consider the genetics of alcohol metabolism in humans.
