Light Scattering from Polymer Gels

  • Chapter
Dynamic Light Scattering

Abstract

Polymer molecules in a solution undergo random thermal motions. The motions give rise to space and time fluctuations of the polymer concentration. In the previous chapters we have seen that such concentration fluctuations (and thus the random thermal motions) can be observed using the technique of laser light scattering spectroscopy.
