Abstract
Peter W. Sutcliffe aged 34 and born on the 2nd of June 1946 was arrested on the 3rd of January 1981 and consequently charged with the murder of thirteen women and the attempted murder of seven other women. Many of the victims were prostitutes but at the time of each offense Sutcliffe believed implicitly that he was killing a prostitute but acknowledged his several mistaken identifications immediately after the murders had been reported by the media.
