Abstract
Every person, who suffers from an illness, wants effective and safe treatment. To help the patient and not to harm him is what physicians have promised since the time of Hippocrates. The problem, however, is not so much a problem of intention, but a problem of capability. How can one know what helps and what harms the patient? An old saying is, that before therapy there has to be the diagnosis. But even more true is, before adequate treatment and correct diagnosis there has to be thorough research.
