Abstract

In patients with acute renal failure the central goal of all therapeutic efforts is the control of fluid balance and the control of azotemia. Continuous arteriovenous hemofil tration (CAVH) has been advocated as an excellent measure to achieve these therapeutic goals in intensive care patients with acute renal failure (ARF).
