CVD Fabrication of In-situ Composites of Non-Oxide Ceramics

  • Chapter
Tailoring Multiphase and Composite Ceramics

Abstract

Generally, materials can be divided into three groups: polymer, metal and ceramics. Composites are fabricated by combinations of these materials for the purpose of using superior properties of each material. In many cases, separately prepared materials A and B are combined to fabricate the composite. We call the composite prepared by the process a “phase-joining composite”1.
