Abstract
Growth and development is a continuous process that begins at the moment of conception, accelerates during the antenatal period, continues rapidly during infancy and then through childhood and puberty. During puberty, the secondary sexual characteristics appear and mature, the adolescent growth spurt takes place, fertility is attained, and significant physical, psychological, and behavioral changes occur, transforming the child into an adult.
