Abstract

Feline viral rhinotracheitis is a major respiratory disease of cats, It is caused by a herpesvirus, designated feline herpesvirus I. This chapter reviews the present state of knowledge of the virus and the disease it produces. The epizootiology of the disease is discussed with particular reference to the latent carrier state. Finally measures for prevention and control of the disease are briefly reviewed.
