Abstract

The concept of calcium antagonism has been pioneered in Europe in the nineteen sixties in two different and independent experimental approaches, one by Godfraind et al. on vascular smooth muscles (1, 2, 3) the other by Fleckenstein et al. (4) on cardiac muscle.
